Angers Sporting Club de I’Ouest, or Angers as they are more commonly known, is a French team based in the Pays de la Loire city of Angers. The team’s home ground is the 18,752-capacity Stade Raymond Kopa. After spending most of its time in professional football after it was formed in the lower divisions of Ligue football, it achieved its promotion finally in 2015. The club has since played 23 seasons in Ligue 1. However, currently, they play in Ligue 2 after being relegated in the 2022-2023 season, finishing last with 18 points.

Although they are not as well-known as their bigger and more prominent rivals, what sets Angers apart is how the team is managed. A lot of effort has been put into training over the years, and there is a real lack of ego behind the scenes at Angers. This seems to be paying off as they continue to be a team that others underestimate at their peril.
