Particular mention should be given to Espanyol and Real Valladolid, who were relegated from La Liga at the end of the 2022/2023 season. In their 1-year absence from the 1st division, they managed to put on an exceptional display of footballing skill and determination in the Segunda División to rightfully earn their return to La Liga.
