Founded in 1906, Strasbourg is a French professional football team that competes in Ligue 1 after it won Ligue 2 in the 2016-2017 season. The club is one of 6 that have won 3 major trophies in French football, Coupe de la Ligue (in 1964, 1997, 2005, and 2019), the Coupe de France (in 1951, 1966, and 2001) and the championship (in 1979).

It is also one of the six teams to have played over 2,000 games in Ligue 1 and has taken part in a total of 52 European games since back in 1961. A less than glorious statistic about the team, however, is the fact that it has changed its manager 52 times over 75 years. This is usually the result of pressure from their lively and passionate fans.
