Allianz Riviera is the multipurpose stadium in Nice, serving as the Ligue 1 team in Nice’s home games. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 36,178 and replaced the city’s older stadium, the Stade Municipal du Ray. The building of the venue started in 2011 and finished in two years. The opening match was between Valenciennes and Nice on 22nd September 2013.

Aside from the exciting games between Nice and the other great teams in Ligue 1, it has also played host to UEFA Euro matches in 2016 between Poland and Northern Ireland, Spain and Turkey, Sweden and Belgium during the group stage, and England and Iceland during the round of 16 part of the competition. It then was used in the FIFA Women’s World Cup of 2019 for the group matches between England and Scotland, France and Norway, Sweden and Thailand, Japan and England, the round of 16 matches between Norway and Australia, and then the 3rd Place Play-off between England and Sweden.
