Founded in 1899 and based in the city of the same name, Marseille is a Ligue 1 football team that has spent much of its history in the top tier. The team’s home ground is the Stade Velodrome which has a capacity of 67,394 and, thanks to the team’s large and loyal fanbase, often achieves the highest attendance on average in French football.

The team is no stranger to title wins as it has won 10 Ligue 1 titles, 3 Coupes de la Ligue and 10 Coupes de France. It is not just domestically they have been a success, though, as they became the first and only French team to win the newly branded UEFA Champions League in 1993 when they beat AC Milan 1-0.

Known for their dangerously offensive style of play, the flexibility and tactical fluidity make them a serious threat, regardless of who they face.
