Stadio Olimpico is the home ground for Serie A Lazio, based in Rome. It has a maximum capacity of 70,000 spectators and is based within the Foro Italico complex in the north of Rome. Italian National Olympic Committee owns it. The stadium was built when the country was awarded host the FIFA World Cup in 1990 and hosted some games throughout the tournament and the final.
It is one of the few stadiums rated with the UEFA Category 4 classification. As well as Lazio games and World Cup games in 1990, it also hosted the annual Coppa Italia finals and hosted four Champions League finals, including the most recent in 2009.
It was then the host of the UEFA Euro in 2020 and will host the European Athletics Championships in 2024.
