Founded in 1912, Monza is a professional football team based in Monza in Lombardy. It competes in Serie A after being promoted at the end of the 2021-22 Series B season. It has taken the team a lot of time and effort, and it has also seen off various financial problems, to reach the top flight of Italian football. Interestingly, until they were finally promoted, no other Italian team had played in more Serie B seasons, a total of 40, without ever playing in Serie A.

During their time in the lower leagues, they set the record for the most Coppa Italia Serie C wins, at 4 and won the Serie C championship 4 times. The team are enjoyable to watch and has a rivalry with Como, also from Lombardy, which was nicknamed the hottest derby in Serie B.
