Founded in 1908, Unione Sportiva Lecce, more commonly referred to as just Lecce, is an Italian Serie A football team based in Lecce in Apulia. Over the years, despite currently playing well in Serie A, they have spent time in both Serie B and even Serie C.
One of the most notable former players is undoubtedly Antonio Conte, who went on to lead Juventus as their manager to Scudetto victory and then lead English team Chelsea as a manager to Premier League victory. Though he is probably best remembered for his time with Juventus as a player and then manager, he started his football career through Lecce’s youth system and played for the team for 13 years.
While the Serie A title has so far alluded to them, they have won the Serie B title on two occasions, most recently in 2021-22 and the Coppa Italia Serie C in 1975-76.
