Founded in 1907, Atalanta is an Italian football club currently playing in the top-flight league Serie A. They moved from Serie B to Serie A at the end of the 2010-2011 season. The team is known for their blue-and-black vertical stripe shirts paired with black shorts and black socks. Home games are played at the 21,747-capacity Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo in Lombardy.

Another noteworthy thing about the team is its renowned youth academy. The institution has produced some incredibly talented players who have gone on to play for some of the best teams in the best leagues in European football.

In terms of team achievements, they won the Coppa Italia once in 1963 and also reached the Cup Winners’ Cup semi-finals in 1988. This is still considered the best performance by a non-first division team in any major UEFA competitions, alongside Cardiff City.
