Based in Turin, the team was originally founded in 1906 as FootBall Club Torino and is one of the most successful clubs in the country during their formative years, winning 5 league titles in a row during the 40s. They were recognised as one of the strongest sides until the whole team was killed in the Superga air disaster in 1949.
The modern team has won the Coppa Italia 5 times, and on an international level, were finalists in the 1991-92 UEFA Cup and won the Mitropa Cup in 91.
