Bay Arena

Bay Arena
Leverkusen
Seats
30 210

With a capacity of 30,000, BayArena, which started life as Ulrich-Haberland Stadion, was opened in 1958 and has served as the home ground for Bayer Leverkusen ever since. The stadium had to be expanded due to the team’s promotion to the Bundesliga in 1979.

Aside from the team’s home games, the venue was selected as one of nine to host several games during the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. It hosted three group games and one quarter-final.

Getting to BayArena is relatively easy as it is based in central Leverkusen, where the A3 and A1 motorways intersect. It is best reached, though, from the A3. You should take exit 24 Leverkusen. You can also take exit 22 Leverkusen-Opladen.
