Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino is the multi-use venue that serves as the home for Serie A team Torino Football Club. It is located in the city’s district of Santa Rita in the Piazzale Grande Torino, in the south-central area of Turin. It currently has the same high ranking as a small handful of Italian stadiums in UEFA Category 4.
It was originally constructed in 1930 and given the name Stadio Municipale Benito Mussolini, after the Italian ruler of the same name. At the time, it was the home for both Torina and Juventus before the venue was abandoned, and the teams used Stadio della Alpi instead. Without hosting Serie A football week in and week out, it was eventually renovated and given the name Stadio Olimpico for the Winter Olympics in 2006. Both teams then moved back until Juventus Stadium was constructed, with Juventus last using it during the 2010-2011 season.
