San Siro is the home ground for both Milan football teams that compete in Serie A. With a capacity of 80,018, it is the biggest venue in Italy and one of the biggest in Europe. It was constructed in 1925 and opened in 1926.
In addition to Inter and Milan games, San Siro has played host to various international Italy games and was the venue for European Cup Finals in 1965 and 1970, with Inter and Benfica and Feyenoord and Celtic, respectively.
During the European championship in 1980, the San Siro played host to 3 of the 1st round group games. It was also renovated for the 1990 World Cup and played host to Argentina and Cameroon, the opening match, in which Cameroon won 1-0 and three further matches, along with a round-of-16 game and quarter-final between Germany and Czechoslovakia.
