Based in the city where they got their name from, Elche plays from the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero grounds and has been a team since 1923, and entered into the league system a few years later in 1929. They currently play in the Segunda Division after being relegated in the 2022-2023 season, coming last in the league with only 25 points. Elche has two main rivalries with Hercules Alicante and Real Murcia, both neighbouring teams.

They have a kit consisting of a white shirt with a green horizontal stripe across the chest, paired with white shorts and socks. Perhaps one of their most famous and celebrated players is Juan Francisco Martinez Modesto, or Nino, as he is known for short. They are currently coached by Fran Escriba and have a lucrative sponsorship deal with Nike, which will hopefully help improve the club’s fortune.
