Their main nickname is The Mattresses, which may sound odd but refers to the fact that their red and white stripes resemble mattresses that all of Spain used to have. Their other nickname is interesting, which, when translated, means The Indians and likely has to do with their main rival in Real Madrid, which has the nickname Los Blancos, meaning the Whites.
