Mewa Arena

MEWA Arena is home to Mainz 05 and is a multi-purpose venue based in Mainz. It replaced the team’s previous venue, the Bruchwegstadion and has a maximum capacity of 34,034. Perhaps one of the most famous games hosted at this venue was the Mainz vs Bayer Leverkusen match on 7th August 2011. It marked the date as the first time Mainz had played in the premier Bundesliga league.

It’s not surprising that it can be an intensely electric experience taking in a football match at MEWA Arena. The crowd are incredibly loyal to their favourite team and is not afraid to show that support during games. It may not have quite the biggest capacity, but the passion and volume of the home crowd more than make up for it.
