Reale Stadium, formerly known as Anoeta Stadium, is home to Real Sociedad and is located in San Sebastian in Basque Country. Inaugurated in 1993, it replaced the previous venue, Atocha Stadium and has a 39,313 which makes it the 2nd largest Basque Country stadium.
It is easily accessible by train, taking the Euskotren Trena on line E2 at Anoeta Station or by taking Line 37, Line 26, Line 28, Line 24, or Line 17 buses or the nightline B4.
Interestingly, while their rival’s new grounds were being constructed, Athletic Bilbao was permitted to use the stadium for the first home game they played in the 13-14 season. On the external concourse area, there is a bust of Alberto Ormaetxea, Real Sociedad’s much-celebrated manager who served the team during their successful run in the early 80s.
