With a capacity of 30,000, the Volkswagen Arena is the home ground of WfL Wolfsburg. Located in the northeast of the city’s railway station and city centre, it is relatively easy to get to the stadium. On match days, you can do it in 15 to 20 minutes, but it's worth noting that you will have to cross railroad tracks and a canal. When travelling there by car, you are best to take the A39.
The modern venue stands out thanks to its unique roof. This was designed as a membrane supported by trusses for the stadium and features 32 radial trusses, all measuring 40m in length, that form the support for the 15,000 sq. metre fire-retardant PVC membrane. The membrane is in place to enhance the atmosphere and help the pitch grass grow.
