Opened in 1969, Stade Francois Coty, or Stade de Timizzolu as it is also known, is the home ground for Ligue 2 team Ajaccio. Even though the stadium has undergone many developments, renovations, and upgrades over the years, it is still a fairly small ground and has a capacity of just 10,660 and three stands – no fourth stand allows for some wonderful views of the sea.
Stade Francois Coty is located west of Ajaccio, sits between the local airport and the city, and is around 4 km from the nearest railway station and the city centre. One of the best ways to get there, if you are coming from Ajaccio city centre, is via Bus 1 at Place de Gaulle de Cathedrale. It takes just 20 minutes to arrive.
Although there is rarely a sell-out crowd, it is still an enjoyable experience watching the workhorses at Ajaccio leave everything on the field.
