Mercedes-Benz Arena
Based in Stuttgart, Mercedes-Benz Arena is the home to VfB Stuttgart. It has a capacity of 60,441, and thanks to its position in relation to Switzerland, there have been seven friendly internationals between the two nations since 1911. The very first time Germany played after the end of WWII was played at the venue, as was the first Germany reunified match. These are against Switzerland.
At 115 sq.-metres, the stadium's two video walls before it was rebuilt were the biggest in Europe. After it was rebuilt, the current stadium has two video walls with the highest resolution in Europe.
Other sporting events have been held at the venue, such as the European Athletics Championships of 1986, where Yurly Sedykh achieved the world record hammer throw, and the World Athletics Championships of 1993 were also held there. Some notable international matches held at the stadium include Poland vs Argentina, Argentina vs Italy, Poland vs Italy and Sweden vs Poland during the FIFA World Cup in 1974 and England vs Republic of Ireland, Soviet Union vs Italy as part of the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
