Arechi Stadium is the current home ground of Salernitana and holds a maximum of 37,800. The venue opened officially in 1990 due to the growing popularity of the team with a bigger capacity than before. Aside from home matches of Salernitana, the Italian national squad has also played at the venue three times. It was also used by fellow Serie A side Fiorentina during the UEFA Cup in 1998. This was because Fiorentina’s grounds were deemed unsafe, so they played their second-round match with Grasshoppers Zurich there.
Interestingly, the game was abandoned after a firecracker hit a fourth official. This led to the Italian side being removed from the competition.
If it is a derby match with Avellino or Napoli, it may be a problem getting tickets for a game at Stadio Arechi.
